DC 101: Discovering Church Membership
This class is for those who are interested in finding out more about this church, its goals and vision.
Would you like to know more about Community of Grace?

- what ministries we offer
- where we are going as a church
- how we do things
- how one can become involved
You are invited to attend our DISCOVERY CLASS 101 and find out. The class is designed to answer your questions and assist you in discovering whether God is calling you to become a part of Community of Grace. Pastor Hogue teaches this class so that he can have the opportunity to become personally acquainted with you -- it is a good time to get acquainted with him and ask any questions that you may have regarding the church.
DC101 is a requirement for church membership though there is no obligation to join the church if you do attend the class.
This class is usually offered every other month – during the odd numbered months. Call the church office for the next date.
The DC 101 meets for four hours, during which time a meal is provided.
Is there Child Care available?
YES! However, for us to make adequate provision for your child and insure we have enough childcare workers, please call the church office by the Wednesday prior to the class at 783-8062.
Both class and the childcare are free.
DC 201: Discovering Spiritual Growth
What is DISCOVERY CLASS 201?
DC201 is taught by Pastor Hogue, and is designed to help you discover spiritual maturity and provide added helps for studying the Bible and growing in your relationship to God.
Once a person makes a decision to become a follower of Jesus Christ, the adventure is just beginning. Because growth is not automatic, we need some tools that will assist us in that personal walk with Jesus. DC 201 is designed to assist you in your walk with Jesus by giving you some basic helpful tools that you will need to get the most out of your relationship with Him. In the class, we talk about the daily disciplines that help you in your spiritual development. You will learn some simple basic methods to help understand the Word of God (the Bible) and develop a habit of prayer. We will address how maturity happens, show you the resources available to you, and give you some practical helps to overcome some of the common obstacles that keep us from growing in Christ.
It doesn't matter if you have been a Christian for one week or for many years, the basics of our Christian faith need a good foundation from which to grow. If you have not benefited from the basics that lead to a walk with Jesus, we invite you to come and get a good start.
Who can attend the DC 201?
The DC201 will benefit anyone who has a relationship with Christ, but there is a prerequisite to taking the class. You must have completed DC101: Discovering Church Membership or are already a member of Community of Grace. If you are not a church member, you need the foundations that are given in the DC 101 first before you can take this class.
Why must I preregister?
Preregistration helps us know how many to expect so that we can have enough materials available, and since we provide a meal we want to be good stewards of our time and resources as well. If you wish to register during the Sunday morning service, please sign up on the yellow communication slip included in your bulletin.
This class is usually offered every other month – during the even numbered months. Call the church office for the next date.
