Digging for the Gold

Restoration demands that we start where you are. Though we have an agenda — to become completely whole in Christ — we start where you are. This requires that the church be a house of acceptance with a measure of toleration. It isn't that we would tolerate sin as being acceptable; however, people are always acceptable. They are always valued and precious.
People need a safe place where they can bring their stuff into the light and not be rejected because of it. Some have as their root fear the thought, "If you really knew me, you wouldn't like me. You would certainly reject me." However, the only way people can experience healing is to bring everything into the light and let God touch them.
That demands an atmosphere that values people as treasures. It requires us to look past their dirt and dig for the gold that was buried deep in them. It demands a place where people are not rejected for their past, for the things they have done, or the things that were done to them.
This has become one of the core values at Community of Grace.
